Sup sogŭi Hosu is the newest custom-built, culturally authentic Language Village, fully opening in 2024. Built by a team of architects from Korea and Minnesota, the buildings are based on the traditional Korean house, known as a hanok–a unique form of construction said to be “a house that breathes” so that those who dwell there become a part of nature.
The first phase of construction completed includes a dining hall and commercial kitchen, administrative complex, two villager cabins, soccer field and waterfront development. A cultural center, activities hall (including a martial arts studio and music room), traditional Korean archery range and more are planned in the coming years.
